We focus on how patients best possibly heal and recover in order to return to work and sports after complicated orthopaedic surgery and other surgical treatment of e.g. gastrointestinal cancer, thyroid gland diseases, bladder or kidney.
We span from basic research to biomechanics, imaging, big data artificial intelligence analytics, clinical and epidemiological research. We advance minimally invasive surgical techniques to improve rehabilitation. By use of microdialysis we study effects of local antineoplastic treatment by use of Hyperthermic Intraperitoneal Chemotherapy (HIPEC) for e.g. ovarian and colorectal cancer.
We are more than 300 researchers and PhD Students who collaborate closely with clinicians, and researchers from a wide range of fields as well as partners from the medico-technical industry and computer intelligence collaborators/big data researchers.
“Our research findings have resulted in new antibiotic dosing regimens and greater awareness of when, how and how much antibiotics we administer to orthopaedic patients.”
“I dream of making social sciences and humanities an integrated part of all future research in clinical medicine.”
