Research at Ear, Nose, Throat, Head and Neck Surgery

Welcome to Ear, Nose, Throat, Head and Neck Surgery!

Our research focuses on diseases of the inner ear, including  deafness, hearing loss and dizziness, cholesteatoma, rhinosurgery, infectious diseases of the ear, nose and throat, olfaction, HPV-related diseases and head and neck cancer. The research spans basic science including experimental studies and clinical trials. Our researchers cooperate with several other medical specialities within Aarhus University Hospital as well as researchers at Aarhus University. The research is headed by Clinical Associate Professor Tejs Ehlers Klug.

The hospital department has facilities with experimental laboratories within the Danish Neuroscience Center (DNC) for cell cultures, PCR, protein and DNA analyses. Databases, national and regional registry accesses are closely obtained for research purposes.

Ear, Nose, Throat, Head and Neck Surgery hosts three research centres: Danish Inner Ear Research Group (DIERG), Olfaction Research Centre Aarhus (ORCA), ENT infections and is part of the interdisciplinary Thyroidea Research Centre in Aarhus.
