My research focus is neurobiological biomarkers. In neurological disease or injury, tiny amounts of proteins are shredded from cerebral cells. I apply ultra-sensitive methods to measure these proteins in the patients’ blood and investigate the association to the clinical disease course. Hereby, we gain new knowledge on disease mechanisms and develop new biomarkers for clinical management of patients with neurological conditions.
