Aim: we investigate our management of hydrocele in adults and try to identify possible risk factors for surgical complications
Number of patients: screening population 159
Methods: a 4-year retrospective study at our university hospital based on medical records from patients with a relevant diagnosis (ICD-10). Case control design: All patients who developed a complication within 90 days were considered cases, and were compared to controls, i.e. all patients that did not develop a complication.
Inclusion: age at or above 18 years, persons with a scrotum, a relevant diagnosis at Aarhus University Hospital from 1st of January 2022 to 31st of December 2025.
Exclusion criteria: age below 18 years, no scrotum, no hydrocele as judged by the medical history
