DANISH.MRD is a prospective observational study (NCT06076811) investigating circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) as a marker for minimal residual disease (MRD) and relapse risk in Danish colorectal cancer patients. It monitors ctDNA before/after curative surgery to assess prognosis, aiding early cancer detection.
The trial includes about 1,600 stage I-III colorectal cancer patients, with samples taken before, during, and after surgical treatment.
Other Projects: It is part of a broader landscape of Danish ctDNA research, including IMPROVE-IT2 and RESPONSE, which evaluate ctDNA-guided surveillance vs. standard CT imaging.
This study plays a key role in implementing molecular surveillance to improve curative treatment strategies for colorectal cancer.
