Profile

I have a background as a physiotherapist and as a certified sports physiotherapist. I have worked as a physiotherapist within elite sport, specialized rehabilitation, within the hospital sector and as a private practitioner before moving into the field of research.

As a researcher, I am interested in improving the care pathways for patients undergoing orthopedic surgery and patients experiencing chronic musculoskeletal pain.

My main research areas are within knee and hip osteoarthritis and hip and knee replacement. I have a particular interest in patients with chronic pain after knee replacement. This includes how we can identify the individual factors influencing the patient’s pain and how we can provide better care pathways for the patients. My overall aim is to create changes that can be implemented into clinical practice to enhance patient and clinician satisfaction.

My research keywords are; Chronic pain, Exercise, Physical activity, Pain neuroscience education, Total knee replacement, knee and hip osteoarthritis.
