Profile
As a clinical associate professor and ENT specialist with a subspecialty in rhinology, I conduct basic and clinical research focused primarily on the sense of smell and other senses.
Research
As a rhinologist at ENT/Aarhus University Hospital and an initiator of the Flavor Clinic (now the Clinic for Smell and Taste Disorders, ENT/Gødstrup) and the Flavor Institute (Department of Clinical Medicine/AU), I am involved in both the clinical and research angles on the senses/sensory loss.
Job responsibilities
My primary area of responsibility is rhinology, including research into the sense of smell, nutrition, and the brain, as well as the interplay with the other senses. Given the breadth of this field, I collaborate with a wide range of professionals, including other physicians, psychologists, chemists, philosophers, neuroscientists, chefs, and biologists.
