Profile

As an associate professor and consultant cardiologist my primary area of reasearch is to improve the understanding of the underlying pathobiology, dagnostic and treatment of acute and chronic pulmonary mebolism.

Research

My primary research area is acute pulmonary embolism and chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension. My research within these diseases is focused on basic disease mechanisms and new treatment using preclinical models, clinical trials and follow up on diagnostics and treatments in danish registries. 

I constribute to reseach in structural interventional cardiology primarily within the fields of patet foramen ovale closure, left atrial appendage closure and av valve diseas in clinical trial and danish registries.

Teaching activities

I teach acute pulmonary embolism in the fellowship programme for cardiology and the medical school at Aarhus university

Collaborations

My reseach is conducted in collaboration with reseach groups both nationally and intationally
