Christian Byskov Fur

I am a PhD student at the Department of Cardiology, Aarhus University Hospital, with a particular interest in acute cardiovascular care. My research focuses primarily on acute coronary syndromes and prehospital care. I received my medical degree from Aarhus University and previously completed an introductory training position in cardiology at Aarhus University Hospital.

My overall research area is acute coronary syndromes. My primary research project is the FOXY trial, a nationwide randomized clinical trial with a planned enrolment of 5,076 patients with NSTEMI. We are investigating whether treatment with aspirin alone is as effective and safe as the current treatment with aspirin and fondaparinux in patients with NSTEMI.

In addition, I conduct registry-based research, including studies of system delay in patients with STEMI and validation of acute myocardial infarction (AMI) diagnoses among patients referred for coronary angiography with suspected AMI.

I teach medical students focused echocardiography (FATE) and have also taught during the Acute Care Week, which focuses on the assessment and management of acute medical conditions.

My primary responsibility is as lead investigator of the FOXY trial. I also serve as a sub-investigator in the DISCO and COMPARE-TAVI trials, where I perform echocardiographic assessments and clinical follow-up visits.
