About PACE

The beginning of our PACE journey

The founding of PACE on January 1, 2025, was made possible by an exceptionally generous 10-year grant from the Lundbeck Foundation - an essential contribution which marked the beginning of our PACE journey.

PACE vision and mission

Vision

At PACE, our ambition is to establish a world-leading translational research center with focus on Parkinson's Disease and other Lewy Body Disorders (LBD). We aim to accelerate discoveries that can slow or halt disease progression and to ensure that these innovations reach patients within a ten-year timeframe.

Mission

Our mission is to improve the lives of individuals affected by neurodegenerative disorders by:

- bridging the gap between laboratory research and patient care

- identifying and validating novel biomarkers, diagnostic tools, and disease modifying mechanisms

- translating these discoveries into clinical trials within 10 years

Our research approach

Neurodegenerative diseases are extremely complex and therefore require a multifaceted research strategy.

Our approach includes molecular and subcellular studies, preclinical research with advanced animal models, epidemiological and population-based studies, and clinical trials.

In addtion, our research relies on cutting-edge infrastructure and expertise, such as advanced imaging technologies, extensive biobank resources and databases, sophisticated laboratory techniques, and computational tools for data analysis.

All these activities are supported by our dedicated team of leading experts in neuroscience, molecular imaging, and related disciplines.
