What services do you get?
The facility offers the following service:
- Rent a spot for a freezer or fridge (+4 to -80 C). Each spot includes dedicated 230 V CEE outlet with own fuse, and possibility to connect an alarm to the AUH monitoring setup.
- Rent a spot for an ultra cold freezer (below -80 C). Each spot includes dedicated 400 V CEE outlet with own fuse, and possibility to connect an alarm to the AUH monitoring setup.
- Rent room in a -80 C freezer. Limited to a maximum of 2 columns per group.
The facility has access limited doors, for optimal security. The excess heat is removed by room cooling to ensure optimal operational conditions for the freezers.
We serve research groups and clinical departments at:
- Department of Clinical Medicine
- Aarhus University Hospital
Other research groups at Aarhus University can enquire for options.
The facility is not open for groups outside Aarhus University or Aarhus University Hospital.
Price
We offer the following services:

| Coloums in a shared -80 ºC freezer. | 415 DKK per year | Electricity is included. |
The rental prices will be adjusted yearly to accomdate the price index regulation.
The price for electricity is calculated yearly, and envoiced to the renter.

About us
The biobank facility is run by the Department of Clinical Medicin.
It is a collaboration between the department and Aarhus University Hospital. It is one of the cornerstones of the Forum building at AUH.
The facility has been running since September 2022.
