THE GCP UNIT

At Aalborg and Aarhus University Hospitals.

The Good Clinical Practice unit (GCP) at the university hospitals in Aalborg and Aarhus can be used by researchers affiliated with the hospitals in the Central Denmark Region and the North Denmark Region.

The purpose of the GCP unit is to provide guidance and monitoring for researchers in the public sector in connection with the initiation and implementation of clinical trials, so that these are carried out in accordance with the rules for good clinical practice.

Good clinical practice (GCP) is an internationally recognised quality standard for clinical trials that involve the participation of human subjects. The guidelines are described in the GCP-guideline Note for Guidance on Good Clinical Practice (CPMP/ICH/135/95) (PDF).

There are three GCP units in Denmark and these are located in Copenhagen, Aarhus/Aalborg and Odense. All of the GCP units have a close collaboration on clinical trials.
