Neuroscience and Psychiatry

Disorders of the brain and nervous system represent great burdens to human health. We explore how these disorders affect the brain and nervous system. We also investigate how the healthy brain works including the mechanisms behind emotions, memory and learning.

What We Do

Our interdisciplinary research spans the entire translational pathway from basic science to clinical and epidemiological research. We aim to understand the development of neurological and mental disorders such as Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson’s disease, stroke, chronic pain, schizophrenia and ADHD, in order to identify strategies for cure and management.

Who We Are

We are more than 300 researchers and PhD Students who collaborate closely with clinicians, and researchers from a wide range of fields as well as partners from the medico-technical and pharmaceutical industry.
