Research represent a large part of our identity at the Department of Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery, Aarhus University Hospital. Research, clinical work, and education are inseparable parts, building the foundation for our evidence-based core services.

We are a multidisciplinary team of different professions and researchers in different positions, including medical doctors, nurses, perfusionists, professors, associate professors, post.docs, PhD students, engineers, and medical students.

Our research focus is anchored in our four research focus areas: clinical research, experimental research, translational research, and research in nursing care and practice. Each focus area is represented by a head of research area.
