  3. Dyad training in real life curricula

Anne Sofie Bjerrum , Eva Karring & Anne Mette Mørcke

We need to know how dyad training applies to real life curricula. We attempt to start a research project that look into large scale dyad training based on real life clinical practice and real life training curricula to observe the real-life effects of dyad training at the Department of Dentistry, AU.Description

  4. The risk of interstitial lung disease following antigen exposure: a long-term study of pigeon breeders exposed to avian proteins

Christine Cramer , Vivi Schlünssen , Elisabeth Bendstrup & Henrik A. Kolstad

Pigeon breeders are exposed to high levels of avian antigens that are potent causes of hypersensitivity pneumonitis but little is known about the long term risk of chronic interstitial lung disease. The study combines detailed and well maintained records on all breeders of racing pigeons in Denmark since 1901 with national health registers. From this data we can study the long-term risk by “pigeon years” and other exposure metrics that may provide new insight to the causes of interstitial lung diseases.Description

Alder øger risikoen for at få kræft.

  8. Focused Lung Ultrasound and Pneumonia in Emergency Departments

Stig Holm Ovesen , Rasmus Aagaard , Jesper Weile , Søren Helbo Skaarup & Hans Kirkegaard

    OVERALL AIM:
This project aims soften, shorten and simplify the course of hospital-admitted patients with community-acquired pneumonia.

The project will be conducted in connection to a PhD, with the following 4 studies and sub-aims planned:

    SUB-AIMS:
Systematic review: To assess the outcome efficacy of point-of-care ultrasound studies published within the last 10 years.

Delphi study: To build systematic expert consensus on the optimal curriculum and teaching methods in point-of-care emergency ultrasound courses.

Learning study: To improve course participants’ learning from a point-of-care emergency ultrasound course.

RCT: To find the effect of focused lung ultrasound as part of the objective examination of ED patients with suspected pneumonia, when compared to chest x-ray.

  9. The Use of Focused Lung Ultrasound in Patients Suspected of COVID-19

Søren Helbo Skaarup , Stig Holm Ovesen , Jesper Weile , Rasmus Aagaard & Hans Kirkegaard

COVID is a major health problem causing massive capacity problems at hospitals. Rapid and accurate diagnostic workflow is of paramount importance. Access to radiological diagnostics tools such as x-ray or computed tomography of the chest are limited even in high-resource settings.

Focused lung ultrasound, FLUS, is a point-of-care diagnostic tool that allows rapid and on-site assessment of lung abnormalities. No transportation of the patient is required thus lowering risk of spreading SAR-CoV- inside the hospital.

This study aims to explore the diagnostic value of FLUS in the COVID-19 pandemic and to explore if FLUS findings can predict risk of respiratory failure.
